City Offices & Facilities Closed Due to Tropical Storm Fay8/18/2008 12:40:38 PMContact: Elizabeth Daly-Watts, 727-562-4333Due to Tropical Storm Fay, Clearwater city offices and facilities will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, August 19, 2008. City operations will return to normal on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, unless otherwise advised. Mandatory Level A evacuations are scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 19th in Pinellas County. There are two shelters which will be open in the City of Clearwater: Ross Norton Recreation Center located at 1426 Martin Luther King Junior Avenue and Oak Grove Middle School located at 1370 S. Belcher Road. Oak Grove Middle School is both a special needs and pet friendly shelter. Those with special needs, who have not yet registered should contact the Pinellas County Citizens Information Line at 727-464-4333. Sand will be available at Clearwater Public Utilities at 1650 N. Arcturas Avenue on a first come, first serve basis. Citizens must supply their own sand bags.
